The ILCA Advocacy Committee has opened a call for new members and is inviting passionate and committed professionals to submit their candidacy to join the ILCA Advocacy Committee, chaired by Dr Manon Allaire, Doctor of Medicine at La Pitié‑Salpêtrière Hospital, Paris, France.

This is an open call — ILCA membership is not required to apply. However, if selected, ILCA membership will be required upon appointment.

Who Should Apply?

We welcome applications from physicians, scientists, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals dedicated to advancing the prevention, early detection, and treatment of liver cancer.

As a member of the Advocacy Committee, you will help drive ILCA’s global advocacy agenda, support priority action areas, and contribute to initiatives that improve outcomes for people at risk of or living with liver cancer. Committee members collaborate to remove barriers to care, advance awareness, and shape impactful strategies that benefit patients worldwide.

Turning Advocacy into Action: Recent ILCA Advocacy Committee Impact 

  • Published a high‑impact advocacy paper in The Lancet Regional Health – Europe, examining global disparities in access to systemic therapies for hepatocellular carcinoma
  • Support and development of advocacy‑related activities, including dedicated advocacy sessions at the ILCA Annual Conference and patient‑focused initiatives aimed at increasing awareness, engagement, and education in liver cancer care.
  • Development of patient-dedicated educational tools in liver cancer, aiming to improve understanding of the disease, empower patients, and support informed decision-making across the care pathway.

Your role

As a member of the Advocacy Committee, you will work together to identify challenges in liver cancer care and propose practical, impactful actions to overcome them. 

Commitment & Term 

Members on the Advocacy Committee serve for 4 years. The committee will ensure members are not all replaced in the same year, maintaining continuity and preserving knowledge.
