About ILCA
The International Liver Cancer Association (ILCA) is the only international organisation devoted exclusively to liver cancer research for experts from all related disciplines.
Our Mission
Our mission is to lead a global Community of physicians, scientists and allied professionals through education and research with the goal to better prevent and treat liver cancer.
We will do so by promoting novel pathogenic, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions for liver cancer by taking a transversal approach to research and bringing together scientists, physicians and allied professionals from all interrelated fields.
Where it all started
From an Annual Conference to an International Membership Association
ILCA was founded in 2007 by a group of experts in liver cancer, established with the purpose of bringing together disparate ideas related to liver cancer treatment and research in a conference setting. Over time, ILCA developed from simply an annual conference into an international membership association which provides a variety of services to its dedicated membership base and to the wider community of liver cancer specialists, ranging from seasoned experts to young professionals at the start of their careers.
The ILCA Annual Conference was the first major international gathering of liver cancer experts of its kind. Today it still remains the most important event devoted exclusively to liver cancer research for experts from all related disciplines, and a key part of the ILCA’s overall outreach.
Each year, the ILCA conference brings together a community of physicians, scientists, and allied professionals from around the world to share knowledge and best practices, collaborate on innovative research, and develop evidence-based guidelines for the prevention and treatment of liver cancer.
At ILCA, the well-being of patients is at the core of all our decision-making. ILCA aims to reduce the global burden of liver cancer globally and improve the quality of life for those affected by this disease. As a multidisciplinary organisation with a growing network and the resources to support allied professionals, there is simply no organisation better suited nor more credible than ILCA to represent the liver cancer community and to lead the conversation around liver cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
Who are ILCA’S Members?
