Knowledge exchange with related societies – coming together to conquer liver cancer
Liver cancer incidence rates are rapidly increasing across the world, with Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) being the fifth most common cancer worldwide. Liver cancer is rarely detectable early when it is most treatable, therefore making it difficult to cure. Given these global challenges for the liver cancer community, it is important that different expert groups from around the world share their joint expertise and thereby improve the quality of research and, ultimately, the outcomes for patients.
At the heart of ILCA’s mission is our commitment to come together for better liver cancer patient treatment and care. We aim to strengthen our global reach through education and research to better serve our members, our partners, and our patients. It was this mission which compelled ILCA to join forces with KLCA to promote awareness of liver cancer research, as well as best practices in care and treatment.
